Trade LLT for Ti-VCT

What kind of gains would I see if I traded from my 2011 V6 to a newer 2014 Mustang V6?

I have a good deal to trade, and don't owe anything on the LLT.

My plan is to supercharge the stang, after the trade in. I have not received any positive influence from IPF here, so I would like to look elsewhere.

Thanks!

If you got the performance package, a nice gain. Its lighter and cheaper to mod

Why go with a mustang? If your looking for more horsepower just upgrade to an SS. Don't cross over to the dark side. Stay true to the Camaro family.

Thanks for that input Magnum, coming from both sides. Honestly your a top member I would consider to trust since you're doing SC on both cars. Such an achievement really! I have read the current heartache with Camaro, and less headache with the Mustang.

I'm just at the stage where I want to move away from the LLT and move to a more modern and modifiable engine that is in my budget. I wish I had originally started with an LFX, but that's not the case.

If you're going to trade to a v6 the mustang is a more modifiable platform than the LLT for sure. But why trade for another v6 if you're already going to take the hit on the trade? I would either do an ss or 5.0. If you don't want a v8, u can always modify the LLT? But the mustang v6 is a decent car as well. I personally wouldn't trade for a v6 but if I had to start all over, I'd probably go that route instead.

Any car you start doing heavy mods to is going to cause problems eventually. The LLT has a huge disadvantage from tuning. I think the IPF tuners are good, Arno has been very helpful in getting my car working right. The only bad thing I will say about IPF is they kept saying that the misfire issues were from the Trifecta tune being loaded on my car and that I had to spend money at a dealership to get an update to get the tune off my car. I finally got a hold of the IPF tuner, he leaned out my mixture a little bit and no more misfires. The only time I had misfires after that was when my LTFT's got into the positive range, so Arno worked with me to get the MAF rates corrected on my car and now it runs great.

The Mustang V6 has a little drama also, right now people are saying the a MPT tune is better than a BAMA tune. They also have had a few engines get destroyed from the Procharger kit if I remember right. But they have also had a Procharger kit get into the 10's. The Mustang does have the advantage of having a 8.8 inch rear end on all cars and the gears are only $160 instead of $500+ that companies like to charge Camaro owners.

If you want a pure drag racing car, look at a 2013 Mustang 5.0, dealerships will be trying to get rid of them and they modify great. I've seen one at the track with a top mounted blower running 10's easily in the summer heat while a Camaro SS with a top mounted blower was running 12's in the same heat.

This x1000 if you're looking to put up numbers at the strip, the 5.0 is hard to beat when it comes to bolt on and a simple blower setup. If you want to go crazy, an LS engine is hard to beat but going crazy will require you have a deep wallet which some people either don't have or don't want to throw that much money into a car

I guess I'm a little confused by the " positive influence from IPF" comment ? When I got my they were very easy to deal with and have worked with me consistently since this was the first vert install an there were some concerns on the inter cooling and mounting. I knew what I was getting into. As for comparison to a V6 stang and upgrading to a SC, my friend has a 2012 v6 that was recently upgraded to a vortex v3 SC kit which was about $200 cheaper than my IPF. As far as performance I still kick his butt. But I think this is driver performance
To each there own ! Ill take my camaro over a mustang any day of the week.

Which company makes a Vortech kit for the 3.7L? Only supercharger I see for the 3.7L is Procharger. I know Vortech has one for the 4.0L, but that engine sucked to begin with.

Too many Mustangs out there, they all look the same. IPF is the best. Customer service and their porduct, who else has gone this far with a super charger.

I also don't quite understand the comments about not getting a positive influence from IPF....but it is what it is.

Keep in mind, you're asking this question on a CAMARO forum. You're not likely to get an objective response.

That being said, if I was looking for a performance vehicle in a V6 and I was in your shoes, I'd be driving over to take the trade right now.
