More than a Car, A Reminiscing Ambasodor
We've only had the Camaro for 1 month today and I have entertained more strangers than I swear I've ever met! Today being no different, I enjoyed a great 15 minute or so conversation with a guy probably in his mid 60's while out for a ride today.
Stopped at the park for a few minutes, this gentleman walks up, do you mind if I look at your Camaro for a minute? When I said sure have a look, honestly, his eyes lit up and he began to tell me his story. As he was in aw looking over the car saying how he had not seen one so pretty and up close since they brought back the " new Caramo." He went on to tell how back in 1967, when he returned from his first tour of duty in Vietnam, he went by the Chevrolet dealer here in town and was in love with the 1967 Camaro and how much he wanted that car. Instead, he went on to say he settled with the 1967 Chevelle SS, that was deep red with the black top because it was only $2,700 and the Camaro was $2,800!!! I imagine in comparison with inflation I suppose our prices are somewhat in comparable, but $2,800!! lol But to see this old Soldier, as he told his story. I was so consumed with the thought of how in just those few minutes, thoughts of times that were good and bad for this man came back to him as if it was yesterday. You could almost feel the emotion, the highs and lows were visible in his eyes as he reminisced of a chapter of his life long closed. Ok, sorry for writing a book, but truly, as man 51, I was almost overwhelmed by this encounter and just thought I'd share it. Do you have a story of such encounters, ignited by the love of the Camaro and an era our current day car represent? ![]()

To adjust for inflation just add one more zero. Example 1,500= 15,000!!

Yeah my dad had his Truimph TR3 wrecked by a 69 SS when he was younger so he loves seeing my 2010 SS. I used to get alot of crap from him because of his previous experience with a Camaro but after I took him for a few rides he has let go of the past and has forgiven the Camaro name.
