And the wait continues

I called the DBC to see what was going on car was built on 4/2 shows shipped under event history and it was shipped to the upfitter for stripes. Then will need to be sent back to the plant before it will be sent.

I also talked to them about invoices and they had no answer to when they will be released.

Neither do I they send it to the upfitter and then back to the plant to get on the train I guess. Honestly how far away could the upfitter be.

Everyone needs to chill. They just started making the car a month ago. Things take time we will all be driving around in our cars soon. Besides I think after May 6th you will see things picking up pace.

I could chill ,except people who have pre-ordered are getting ugly. Two customers today were running off at the mouth and as their salesman,I care.Contrary,to what some think about us.I wish they had your attitude.

Just the truth about where our cars are is all we ask...If there is a problem, just let us know what it is and we are good to go. That is all.

I feel for you in that aspect (as a salesman) with having customers fire off on you, daily if not weekly.

That would drive me nuts, I would dread having to answer the phone. At this point, I'll probably not call my dealer again unless something happens dramatically on my end. I think the next time I hear from him is when my Camaro is being brought in the assembly line to be built.

I started to lose my patience but I think I got it back. I'm disappointed with how some of the Camaros are being built prior to all the pre-orders but hey... that's life.

Customers are bastards as much as the dealers can be. I think respect given is respect earned. Once they get "the call" to pick up, you'll be like their BFF.

Upfitter is close but it provokes an event code. One of ours has be bayed 3 times. There will be a flock at the Phillies game on May 8 if that helps any.

I don't blame them either for being antsy.Let me add ,other pre-order customers are being patient and just like to come in and visit. We talk about the car and do our best to keep them informed. Those are the good ones. You also understand and I appreciate the comment.

If anything I have made a new friend in the general manager at the dealership because of the time have spent there. I am one of the patient ones.

I bet it's for one final inspection to make sure everything is perfect. And maybe so they can log it and mark it as "officially" being shipped. Makes sense to ship from the plant, rather than from a 3rd-party striping company

We did the same thing where I used to work (selling police uniforms). If someone ordered something with embroidery on it, we'd sew everything necessary (patches, sizing, etc), then send it to the embroiderer to get done. When it was ready, they shipped it back to us, then we shipped to the customer. It's all about the paper trail... It just makes sense, that's all

I KNEW they were going to an upfitter. Just like the WS6 T/As and SLP 'Hawks and SSes!!
That's why we're seeing codes 4200 & 4300.

A 4200 code is triggered when the car is sent to the stripe upfitter, then a 4300 when the car is delivered to the upfitter, another 4200 when it's shipped back to the plant, and another 4300 when it's delivered back to the plant.
And there will be ANOTHER 4200 when it finally ships out to the dealer.
