ls3 stroker with eagle crank, rods, need advice

I got a call from my machinist today and he is saying that we should go with 9:1 compression for the ls3, I am installing the motor in a 69 camaro and need some advice, I plan on using a maggy sc and want to know if the stock heads with yellow springs will hold up, I also am planning on a different cam maybe the ls9 camshaft. I would appreciate any advice at all and has anybody built a stroker using eagle parts
Thanks

how much boost do you plan on running? I think you can get away with a good bit more compression than that unless you plan on running alot of boost. Also the springs will also depend on how much boost your running and if your going to upgrade the springs might as well get a bigger cam.

If you are swapping out the cam, you've got to swap out the springs. Don't take the chance on destroying you motor by breaking a (several) springs with the new cam. You don't want to go down that road, trust me.

My wife still gives me crap over that one. You may save a few bucks in the beginning, but it will end up costing you a lot more in the end if you don't address it early.

9.1 compression is good, eagle is OK, but prefer Callies Comstar parts, Callies has made a very immpression in the LS world. The springs should be changed to a set of 921 dual springs, a stiffer set is going to give up on the hydralic lifters and cause the lifters to break, a common problem when the springs are not carefully selected. The LS9 camshaft is a very nice streetable cam, according to the prurpose of the 69, most guys love the big cam beat and with the LS9 cam you will not heard it much.
How much do you think the complete motor with machine work, labor to build, parts and head work with dual springs will cost you?

I am just guessing that I will have 4 to 5 g in the motor when done, I took it to a guy in loveland that has owned a machine shop for 30 years, I have a lot of confidence in him and his work, I just see so many different ways you can go on these motors and I don't think there is a bad way just have noticed some run lower compression and more boost to get the same amount of horsepower, pretty interesting thanks for your help I need all the good advice I can get
