CF hood insert or Flat Black?

Hi, Im kind of new to this forum thing and I just recently signed up to Camaro5, but I just have a quick question. I'm looking to buy a Camaro ZL1 at the end of the summer, but i just wanted to get my facts straight before I order it. I was just wondering which would be better in the long run, the carbon fiber insert or the flat black?

It all depends on what you like Order the car the way YOU want it to look, the heck with anyone else

Both look great on the car, we love the look of exposed carbon fiber on our ZR1, so I am sure the CF would look great. However, I have seen the ZL1 many times, and the black looked just as good. So either way, you get a great car, it all comes down to personal preference

Personally, even if I wanted the black insert, I'd still order it with the carbon insert for the $600 cost of the option.

I'm sure you could easily sell it to a black insert owner for $1000 and a trade of their stock piece, given the exposed carbon insert is $2200+ to order it over the camera.

That means more mod money, if you're so inclined.

I made my decision based on other CF hoods I've seen in Florida. Some of them have started to get a milky haze look to them. Don't know if it's from the sun down here or just bad CF ... Needless to say I got the black insert.

If you change your mind, it's a service part away...they are changeable. Some nuts on the bottom side and double-sided tape between the hood and insert. The aftermarket will probably have some different ones, too, coming out for those that want an unique look. I bet they'll be swapping on here, too, with one now wanting this, and someone else wanting that...
