Get this.

I called a GM CSR, asking for an update on my order. I give them the VIN and details, and get this:

GM: "Mr. Prince you must be very happy! Your car has been accepted and is currently in dealer inspection! "

ME: "What? Does that mean that the car is at the dealer?"

GM: "Yes. Dealer Inspection means that the car has been received and is being inspected by the dealers and prepared for delivery. They will make sure that the car is built right, add-on extras, and prepare the car for you".

ME: "So let me get this straight. It's here. It's in Montreal. It's at the dealer. Right now. "

GM: "Yes sir! Congratulations!"

ME: WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GM: "Didn't your dealer call you yet?"

ME: "No!"

GM: "That's strange... "

ME: "Gotta go! Gotta get to the bank before it closes so I can pickup my 2010 Camaro tonight!"

GM: "Wow have fun!"

(Click) "WHEEEEEE!!!!!!! "

Do I go get the car first or do I post on Camaro5.com first? Wait - maybe I should call the dealer (why didn't they call me or answer my email?)

So I call.

ME: "Hi JT! GM Just called and told me that you have my car. Can I come and see it? "

JT/Dealer: "What "

ME: "GM. Said car is. at your place. now. just waiting for me to. you know, pick it up?"

JT/Dealer: "Your car is not here. We know dealers are receiving them but we didn't receive any yet. "

ME: "......"

JT/Dealer: "......" (taps pencil perhaps)

ME: "But... but but but GM says that you have received the car. The code they have now is "Dealer Inspection", which means delivered to dealer. "

JT/Dealer: "Nope! No Camaro here. I will call you next week as it may arrive then. Camaro's are ready to be shipped and dealers should be getting them late next week and blah blah blah blah blah blah camaros blah blah blah..."

ME: "But.... but.... ok... bye..."

GM did the same thing to me, said; your car is being built and should be ready for shipment soon. I called my dealer and asked........dealer said; uh no sorry, they havent even accepted our allocation yet, still wont be till end of summer.

IF I WERE YOU I WOULD DRIVE BY THE DEALERSHIP AND WALK AROUND THE BUILDING MAYBE ITS THERE AND HAVE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO NOT SELL IT TO YOU TILL A WEEK FROM NOW.
