MRT V 1.0 vs SLP Loudmouth V 1.0
Hey all, I just bought a 2013 Camaro RS and am looking for some axle backs to put on. Which do you all think is better, the MRT V 1.0 or the SLP loudmouth V 1.0? thanks for your input.

MRT V1 if what u want is a LOUD and GOOD QUALITY sound from your car, the loudmouth v 1.0 is basically a "MUFFLER DELETE" in which u can find it in any muffler shop for a way cheaper price, but just with better made quality. Based on what the people around the forum have said, muffler delete on a V6 sounds awful, loud, annoying, raspy, "RICEY"... and depending on your state, it may be illegal to have a muffler delete set up on your car. It sounds good only on a V8.
So, my suggestion go for MRT V1. (A member here have said the combination of a MUFFLER DELETE + a MAGNAFLOW RESONATED X PIPE overall sounds good, and is not expensive to have this combination at all). Last edited by hzisfrom1994; 01-21-2015 at 08:28 PM. |

Both the SLP Loud Mouth and MRT are great Exhaust Systems. Here are some shots we took for the website of the MRT V1 Axle Back Exhaust. You can get these in both Polished Tips 91A176 or Black Tips 91A176-BLK

I have the mrt v1 on my car it's loud for sure which I don't mind one bit ! However if you don't want your neighbors to hate you the v2 system from mrt would be for you. The differences between mrt v1&v2 is the v1 is loud and agressive period it's as bout as racey(in a good way) you can get these v6 engines to sound. The v2 system to my understanding is loud when you want it to be(like when your accelerating hard.) So if you wanna drop panties get the v1 of you need to stay quiet to sneak into your gfs house get the v2 lol

Me and the dude above both have MRT V1. MRT is very high quality and either set up sounds fantastic. The large difference to me is that the V1 is louder the v2 is a little more tame when you'd be under light throttle like in neighborhoods or traffic. If your state has strict exhaust noise laws(yes it's lame) then I'd get the v2 becuase you are less likely to get pulled over (the tone is also a tad deeper). My v1 is loud regardless of how hard I'm in the throttle. If I'm passing a cop I throw it in higher gears to keep the RPMS way down so I don't get pulled over(although louisiana is pretty relaxed with this law). To me the v1 exhaust sounds like it a modified v6 passing you on a racetrack it's angry and has that v6 sound. Something like a well modded NSX would sound like. And I wanted my car to sound like a v6 bc that what it is and I'm building it to be a bad ass v6 not a wanna be v8. The mrt v2 system is a little deeper and doesn't necessarily try to sound like a v8 but it's just deeper then I personally think a v6 should sound like. However it does sound very good and you honestly can't go wrong with either system. I believe the mrt v2 is more popular due to it being only loud under throttle and not all the time. However I wouldn't trade my V1 for it ! I love my exhaust!
Think of it this way Mrt v2 vs mrt v1 vs slp LM1 (Best of both worlds)(loud but sounds good) (and very very loud)

Then you'd probably be happiest with the V2 out of those choices.
