Headers or an Exaust????

I'm trying to decide which to purchase and install first. I would love to do them both at same time but I can't. Any ideas on which to buy first? I'm gonna get bbk short headers and the MRT V. 2 exhust but not sure which to do first. I have K&N Typhoon CEI, with a Trifecta tune. Going on a 2011 LT1 Automatic.

Don't put shorty headers on get longtube headers they will make a lot more power and will sound much better than shortys. I would do longtubes first.

I'd get the exhaust first, long tubes second.

I would go with MRT 2.0's if you want sound first. If you want the HP then go wtih the headers first.

I LOVE my OBX headers I just installed. The increase in torque and HP is a whole lot of fun to drive ........PERMAGRIN for sure.

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to go with the exhaust first.

if you want shorties, then i would go with exhaust first. if you want longtubes, i would get those before mufflers.

just remember that a long tube will make your exhaust raspy as hell even on stock exhaust. You will need to do magnaflow perforated x-pipe most likely with a long tube.

Yup long tubes all day. The headers will give you more power. But I always like to start off small then move up

I disagree. My LT's actually DECREASED the raspiness.

so you still have the stock exhaust? I have to say I find that surprising, because most every person says rasp increases with LT's. I was set up for it before I got my LT's, so can't speak from experience. Maybe the stock exhaust, if you have it, handles the extra flow better than expected.

Stock our exhaust is 2 1/4 which will handle our flow fine. That's why not much power is gained going to a catback or axleback.
I have to agree about headers for power, exhaust for sound.
