My new toy

Picked up my new 2012 SS1 Last Monday. So far I love this car!!! My first car when I was 17 was a 1996 Dark green V6 mt gen 4. The new SS is super fun and is a beast! I have spent a lot of time reading on this forum and this place is a great resource.

As far as mods go, I will probably start slow but so far I have tinted the windows/side markers and blacked out the emblems.

I am looking to add exhaust this week. after lots of reading and video clips I think i have decided on the SOLO cat back system. Any input on this system would be appreciated. I would really like to hear in person as listening to clips online seems hard to tell how it really sounds. I want something LOUD but want to be able to cruise the freeway without going deaf!

Nice color choice. We all know black cars are the fastest.

I am happy with it although the detailing bill is going to be brutal. After taking delivery from the dealer (picked the car up at night bad idea) i noticed there are already light swirls in some areas. My detailer said wax should cover them for now as they are pretty light.

Looks sweet and congrats on the purchase! Tint is a good first move! I just need to get around to it myself.

Do you mind telling me how you tinted your sidemarkers? Feel free to let me know via PM. I'm looking at different ways to do it, just felt like getting some feedback from you if you don't mind. Yours look great.

Thanks! the tint shop did the markers, although in person it does not look that great. the markers have raised imprinting on them and the film looks bubbled over. The shop only charged 30$ to apply tint film and black vinyl on the front and rear emblem so not a big deal. I would look into seeing if there are aftermarket side markers. I have also seen some led replacements but are a little pricey IMO

Ah, I gotcha. Well they look good in the pics! $30 isn't bad either.

I'd suggest you get some AAC Oracle sidemarkers as opposed to buying pre-tinted lights.

Here's a link:
http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...de-markers.htm

They'll cost you closer to $300 total. But damn they look good! Far better than any other sidemarker I've seen!

Have fun with your new toy!
