Camaro - Across the pond!

Hey guys

Im looking to bring one of your Camaros over to the UK, and looking for some help and advice from the experts

Firstly any information on pricing from and dealers in regards to buying to export? Obviously i wouldnt require a warranty. Would i be exempt from tax? as id be paying the tax on the car when it arrives in the uk

Can anybody get me some pics of the front are rear lights at night? including the indicators? i need to find out what would have to be changed for the UK regulations.

Can anyone suggest any reliable shipping companys on the east coast?

thats all i can think of at the moment, im sure ill have many more to come.
any advice/comments would be appriciated

its guna be a journey but worth it to have one of those bad boys on my driveway!!

i know that Geiger brought the camaro to the market over in europe, i believe it was a fair size mark up on it as well, here's the link to that thread:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ghlight=geiger

i have no idea the cost to import cars from North America to Europe, so i don't know what's a 'reasonable price' to ship/import a car.

geigers website seems to be fully german, and i didn't see a button to change the language on their page, luckily Google can translate pages. or if you know german, use the regular site
http://translate.google.ca/translate...ial%26hs%3Dvns

i'm going to assume germany has similar laws as the U.K. that would dictate what changes need to be made.... (again, i'm not familiar with European laws at all, maybe they're entirely different in both countries), but hopefully if you can see what geiger has had to change, that's the same things you'd have to change.

hopefully that helps you out a little bit. hopefully some of the dealers can chime in and help you out with shipping, and some owners can get some night photos

I would start with O'Reagans Chevrolet in Halifax Nova Scotia since it's on Canada's East Coast. (www.oregans.com) From there - they could set you up with shipping or you can arrange that from the uk.

I have no info for ya but I did want to say good luck. I hope everything works out for ya.

It might be easier to have an American buy it for you, ship it there and sell/trade it over to ya. Is that legal? How do rich collectors do it?

the prices they charge over here for already imported and modified camaros are ridiculous

start at around $46,000 for the 1LT , totally stock, no options

if i do it myself i can import a 2LT RS for around $38,000

Are there any dealerships that are members of camaro5? would save on the cost of calls and buy from the US to export is not something most of the dealers have done before

this would be ideal but i dont know any unfortunatly, i may look to come over to the US and buy face to face from a dealer, drive to the docks etc

but this will obviously raise the price quite a bit

I know of a couple of sites that do it. The price is high, but not that bad compared to what you can buy for that money in europe.
With some prices:
http://www.americancarriage.co.uk/american/default2.htm
Would have to call up for prices:
http://www.americancarimports.com/
The american car imports also change the car so that it is road legal in the UK. I would recommend you call them up and talk to them.

we sure do have some dealers on the site here, i don't know who all of them are but "CamaroScotty" would be the most active on the site i'd say, and he's pretty darn helpful too! but there are others as well.

here's the vendors (dealer) autos for sale thread
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=69, that's probably an easy way to spot the dealers on the site.

Good luck...looks like the U.S. buyers will have first dibs on the ones that are just coming out...maybe you'll have to wait awhile for one. (hehehehehehehehehehehe)

all of the "specialist" dealers in the UK, have ridiculous mark up. If i want one arranging everything myself is the only way to go.

in regards to US buyers getting them first, i would be buying from the US so it wouldnt make any difference.

How long is the wait for these ?

I have ordered an Inferno Orange Metallic 2SS, 6 speed, black Rally Stripes, Accent Trim Package, Polished 20", via an american friend. He will register it in the US and then ship it as used to me in Sweden....can't wait.
