Camaro order tracking.

It is a complete waist of time to call the GM 800.222.1020 number for order tracking. The call takers will not provide any information. Based on the information provided or actually not provided, GM is certainly not representing the company well to some of their most loyal customers. For customers who have had deposits down for 6 months and longer, it seems reasonable to at least determine estimates of what quarter the production of their ordered car is likely to occur now that production is underway.

As always, your dealer is your best bet for getting more accurate information. If you don't have that kind of relationship with your dealer, then you have the wrong one.

Reading others experiences with the 1-800-NOHELP , it seems it really depends on who you get on the phone. Summer help and some aren't.
When I called I think my call was answered by someone in India.

I just called….

I got something along the lines of.....

……We know you want to know the status of your car........ even though I can press one button right here on my PC and give you its exact location and expected arrival time...... the dealer is the best source for that info... blah blah blah.... thank you for your money.

I may not a good example buy I contacted the GM 800 line on Friday April 24, and got great service and information from the lady who assisted me. They informed me my car had been built and shipped which the dealer had no clue about until I informed them on Saturday afternoon. I was very pleased with the assistance they gave me, but then again I got great news that I was not expecting. They did ask me if I had attempted to contact my dealer and if the dealer had been of any help, they asked a few more question about the dealer and then put me on hold for a couple of minutes and then came back and gave me my information. All in all I was happy to just get some information and at least the customer service rep provided that when my dealer has been AWOL when in comes to information. As always I think it has more to do with the person you reached not GM. Give these guys a chance, I am sure the 15,000 people who pre-ordered Camaro's on top of the regular daily calls and the state of affairs with GM right now does not help with their CSR entushiasm to assists someone wanting to know when their car is going to be built. Be patient, good things come to those who wait! I ordered Oct. 15 so I know how long the wait has been, in the end I am sure it will be worth it.

Smile Update!

Well I did what was suggested and called again. I asked for sales from their automated menu which was wrong but they transferred me to customer service. I gave them my order number and all the usual information that they ask for. Anyway when it was a woman who answered I knew I was in luck. At least I didn't get the guy in India! She put me on hold and came back with a TPW of 5/4 to 5/8 which is 2 weeks from when I went to 3300! This is close to what my dealer had told me a month ago: build in first week in May and he said delivery should be mid-May. I am again hoping for delivery before Memorial Day!

I called the other day, and the woman I talked to was really helpful. She was able to tell me that my car was built but pulled for a 4 week quality hold in pontiac michigan.

I called that day too, spoke to a nice girl that told me my car had been built and was ready to be shipped. Which kind of confused me because I ordered only 3 weeks ago. I have called before (2 weeks earlier) and was told it was still needing to be build and they told me to call the end of next week (the 24th) so I am unsure if my car is really built or not.

She also mentioned they build them in big batches because it takes too much time to build them in small numbers due to the time it takes to calibrate the machines.

I hope she is right, I would love to get my car before the Victoria Day long weekend (May 16-18).
