HUD...

Recently I received the book "Camaro: A Legend Reborn". IN the book there is one chapter where it talks about the options that were being considered. One of them was HUD. It said they decided not t use the technology at firs tin the Camaro, but it WILL BE OFFERED AT THE END OF 2009.

Things change pretty quick. I know that was the rumor but the book you're reading is more than an hour old so

I wanted the HUD, but seing the Digital MPH display in the information center I said to myself, why do I even need HUD? You allready have the analog display and the digital one in the center with large numbers. I'll say this, HUD looks cool but it's a total waste of money in this car. To each his own if it was offered now I'de think about it.

I've always wanted a HUD...loved it when I drove a Z06...I wanted it on the new Camaro...but I don't wanna pay for it.

Plus...I got to flip through that Camaro book while I ordered my Camaro

Yes...it was a pampered test drive and ordering

it would be a nice feature, but i'd rather they start using push-button-start technology like everyone else (lexus, bmw, even the chally!!) so that i never have to remove my keys from my pocket.

just get in, start up, and let the fun begin!

My feelings as well. The only thing I'd get from having a HUD would be the ability to say "I've got a HUD." If the HUD were some amazing technological marvel that could highlight turns I need to make, put giant floating arrows over requested destinations like gas stations or Chipotle Mexican Grills, and notify me whenever single women between the ages of 24 and 30 were checking out my car, THEN I'd want it.

By the way, if anybody tries to patent the giant-floating-HUD-arrow-over-Chipotle idea, I'm counting this as "prior art."

I'd be much more excited about a backup sensor on this car. That would be useful from what I hear of rear visibility.

I really wanted the HUD at first, then I realised that I won't need it. I do fine with my regular gauges on my Saab, why should the Camaro be any different? I'd rather make sure I have rumbling LS3 under the hood. Nothing beats a solid engine.
