Delco-Loc II - Not My Friend This Spring

The battery on my 4th generation Z-28 went dead over the winter and after a recent recharge, the Delco-Loc II radio is displaying this and the radio doesn't work:

I tried everything in the owners manual to no avail. I don't have the security code as I bought this car used 14 years ago and never had this happen to me despite several dead batteries over the years.

I'm going to try to leave the ACC on for an hour to see if I can get the backup code to display as I can't get any numbers to come up when pushing the 2 & 3 presets for 8 seconds as a thread here instructed.

Until then, does anyone have any suggestions for me. I know I can take it to the dealership and have them take care of it but I'd rather invest the $$$ in a new stereo if it's something I can't fix with some guidance from folks here.

Thanks all!

Well, I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and when I reconnected the battery, the radio displays "LOC".

I pressed the 2 & 3 preset buttons for 8 seconds and the radio displayed the backup code: 141 191.

Called the 1-800 Delco Service Support number and got a reset code of 020 604.

I tried programming in the code but it just reverts to the " -:--" display.
