Front plate alternatives...

Those of us unlucky enough to live in states that require front plates are surely dreading either drilling holes in the front of the car, or possibly getting tickets.

I know some of the Vettes had plate hiders that would hide in under the grill, however I am not sure of the effectiveness of those or anything like that.

If anyone knows of any good alternatives made or being made for the Camaro that will either preserve the front of the car or hide the plates if need be, it would be appreciated if you could share it.

Thanks !

There is a few alternatives. Swift motorsport has a couple. There is a couple of threads here with some options . You can use the search button to find them.

well i have the same plates as swift and it will work. i went to the camaro on the lot at my dealer looked under you have plenty room to mount. Now it to depends on how desgreat you want it to be. plus there is the alternative of cutting the grill and it going through there. well if you can be patient if and when i ever get my car i will have it on to show everybody on here. if you want to ask more write me at andrew@sightwaves.com plus i believe my price is cheaper then swift. also offer it in manual or auto

You might want to try those 3M things where you can pull them off and they have velcro they are strong and I don't think it would hurt the paint maybe test them on another car first, hope that helps.

Is the bottom grille on the SS large enough to fit a plate?

You would have a better chance of seeing God than me drilling holes in my car. Never did in my Vettes won't start now either! Already told the dealer to leave it alone because if they drill holes i won't take the car and they will order me another one immediately at any cost I don't care!

I got pulled over once in my Vette for not having a front plate. I told him if you had this car what would you do? He let me go and said not every cop is as nice as him but he was a sports car enthusiast so he understood.

problem with paying is it shows up on your record when you get puuled over to where finally they will give you a big fine. neighbors a cop and i have a some what show car with illegal mods and he explains to me what could happen. he laughed when i showed him my show and go license plate and just said if you have it down and you get pulled over to bring it out and they might take a double look thinking they missed it.

Swift motorsport said they were working on one and hoped to have it shortly. they said they had to work around a small lip under the bumper.
