After being thoroughly disappointed with how long the vehicle was taking to get built, I decided to look at autotrader.com. after a few calls, #183 was found! the sales man said it was a retail order, he told me that some of their allocations didn't go through and they had people on a list who they needed to call first, to make sure they got dibs. he said they had 2 more calls to make and he'd add me as well. like 15 minutes later, he said it was mine if i wanted. the car was at msrp, it was the color i wanted with the right wheels, with an auto transmission and the carbon fiber (exposed) insert. the car also was ordered with a sunroof and the suede interior options. not deal breakers by any means! so after several texts, my wife just said, "it's up to you" and just like that, plane tickets were being searched and arrangements were being made for our 4 yr old.
we flew out saturday morning and arrived in houston at 1140 am. a car was sent to pick us up, about 40 minutes away from the dealership. signed the papers and we were on our way! one of the smoothest transactions i've ever had! We left houston at 5am sunday and arrived at 3pm, 11 hour drive with the time difference. here are a couple pics, theyre attachments, as i'm not sure any other way. after its washed and i add a couple mods, ill post more. as many have said, pictures do not do this vehicle justice, it is simply awesome in person. the first thing our salesman did as we walked up was remote start it and i was just in awe. the zl1 is one sexy beast! the bottom pic is after the drive, covered in bugs! please dont facepalm me, haha by the way, dealership also ordered the premium floor mats with camaro on them as well as the car cover, gray with black stripes, im going to sell them if anyone is interested.

Thanks everyone, it was an exciting, but looong weekend. Got back with over 800 miles on it. Rjansen, believe it or not, I did try maneuvering around te bigger butterflies! I got stopped by a state trooper for going 84 in a 80, but first thing he said was nice car. Said he'd never seen one, asked about the engine size and horse power. I didnt even have my insurance card and all he said here's a warning, nice car, drive safe!
