Okay someone correct me if Im wrong....Can I just hook my lighting harness back up after after I have prepped the head and fog lights since Im leaving the factory diffuser and bulb in? Wire up my power and ground and oracle halo's to the colorshift module and just turn the module on when I want the colorshift and off to use stock lighting?

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155134.

I installed these on my car and started a thread. I will post my wiring diagram for you shortly. The color shift halos will not work with the factory diffusers. I used Tyson tubing that was lightly sanded to diffus the light. There are a couple of other install threads on here as well. Good luck.

I'm a little confused by a couple of things all of a sudden. The first being that you said the color shift halos will not work with the factory diffusers... but this post says to me that they do...

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=82

The second is your wiriting diagram. I'm completely with you right up until I look at your terminal board at the bottom of your sheet. What is it's purpose? When I originally read your other post, I assumed you had a terminal board under the hood, which is where the wires from your halos/fogs tied in together. Then from that board, it went into the car to another board (so it would be easier should you need to replace a wire, and for ease of running wires), and then it went to the controller.

Maybe I'm a little confused. Re-reading your diagram, I see that at the bottom looks like it might be showing your interior lights, which would say that they're running of the board on your interior. But then why does your diagram suggest you are using 3 6 lug terminal boards?

Sorry if those questions came out kind of garbled. Hopefully you understand what I'm asking haha.

kalimus,

Without significant modification to the lights and the stock diffuser that would render it inoperable, the color shifts will not fit behind the diffuser, clearance issues. I elected not to modify the lights or diffuser so I could return my lights to stock if I were to trade it in on another car or in my case a GM buy back, I restored my old lights to stock, gave the car back to GM and when the new car came in I placed them into it.

I have 2 harnesses off the controller, 1 to the interior for interior lighting/footwells (bottonm of diagram) and the other to the engine compartment for the halos and fogs.

The diagram simple one line drawing. Each led string/halo ring wiring is terminated with terminal lugs which would then connect to the terminal board. They are each individually wired to the terminal board so I can replace one if it becomes defective.

I will look to see if I have any pics of the interior of the light to show the isues with the diffusers.

Another word of advice, using small tie wraps secure the halo ring wiring to the back side of the ring as near to the solder points as possible. The solder joints for the wiring are weak and can become seperated from the ring. The tie wraps will take the stress off the solder joints.

Hope this helps.

John

Looking at the diagram, I now understand your confusion about 3 terminal boards since I listed 3 in the parts list. I had originally planned on using 3 terminal boards so I colud but colorshift on the rear but decided not to later, so the third terminal board was going to be in the trunk.

Did you tap your controller directly off the battery? I'm installing the rings this weekend hopefully, but won't be wiring them up for the next couple of weeks since my car is in the shop.

There is a good grounding location at the front of the console behind the trim piece on the passenger side. You can see it on the AAC thread I posted earlier.
