COPO Camaro
Just got my Hot Rod Magazine in the mail and this car is incredible. Chevy hasn't released numbers but they are guessing 900HP as delivered. Go to YouTube and search Motor Trend COPO Camaro. I'm not comparing it to a ZL1. Just saying it is good to see GM's dedication to racing.

Yeah they are really cool and for them to even offer such a beast is very cool. That will be a honor to the few people lucky to get one. The HP is really gonna be dependant on which of the 3 motors you get unless you got the scratch to purchase all 3

The really cool thing is that those parts (and engine assemblies) are or will be available through GMPP.
5.3L with a 4.0L blower and LS7 heads.....what a monster screamer. Thats over twice the FI displacement of the ZL1. There is a smaller article right behind the COPO article on the ZL1 and about how great it is ..... until the GT500 comes out. |

Wonder what a ZL1 would weigh with that kind of spartan interior/no option treatment...

Does GM sell the Catch-can in the picture for the ZL1?

The article in Hot Rod said they were going to release a GM parts list soon.

I love how they didn't clean the rubber off from behind the rear tires. What an amazing machine.

I have not seen the HP numbers or times released yet. the cobra jet's with the 4.0L runs high 9's from the factory I think. be interesting to see if chevy delivers the car with that much speed out of the box.
I think the cars are cool but if they are ~100k like the cobra jet and limted to ~50-75 a year be kind of a niche item that might be hard to get for the average joe.
