The BBB complaint seems to work...

Just an update for everyone. I filed the BBB complaint about 10 days ago and started getting the paperwork together for the lemon law. GM customer svc contacted me after being advised of the pending complaint. They advised they would be getting an offer put together for me by yesterday. Yesterday, the call came in. GM is offering a new vehicle.

I have been very frustrated with my car. But I decided that I will give GM the chance to make it right. I decided to accept the offer and will be talking with my dealership on Monday about ordering my new one. I hope convertible #2 works out better .

Great to hear. What are you going to get? I would order up a 2013 if you can but then it will be the end of summer until you get it. Make sure if you are going the 2012 route to get one built after March1. That way you will ensure you are getting one with the fixes built in. What dealership are you going through? You can just PM that info. Maybe I can help you out a bit.

Congrats! Its just such a shame that it takes possible legal action to get GM to do the right thing.

I am going to try to get a 13. I talked to my sales guy and it sounds like the difference in price would only be a couple hundred. I figure the later it is produced, the less likely it is to have any issues. I am going through Stillwater Motors, they have been great to deal with and very understanding throughout this battle. I do frown a little bit about missing the summer months, but, I always have my motorcycle to help me through it.

Good for you SnowVert. I am primed to submit my complaint to BBB, but giving GM one last chance to consider my case. My biggest concern is that they don't produce the RJT color anymore, but i'm at the point that i don't ever want to put the top up and have other see the ridiculous rub marks and wrinkles; it just makes this beauty look cheap.

What does GM do with all these buy-back vehicles? Crush them?

Depending on what is wrong with them, the majority actually go to auto auctions. Some others go to training centers.

Yeah, businesses get notified immediately once there's a BBB complaint. Sorry it had to go that route. Good luck with vert #2.

Are you going to get the same financing terms? They ran 0% for 72 on the 2011 models at the end of the year.

Snowvert -- Congrats on finally getting some relief. Our convertible is a flipping nightmare. Six months worth so far. Please PM me with any info you have on filing the BBB gig, I may have to go that route.

I second this. The BBB process works.
