Curtain Call
Hey look, its another ZL1 vs Shelby thread
. Nawww, this is just a wrap it up and look toward the future thread Most of the VS reviews are in, and I don't think there is too much more to cover. Although the ZL1 was beat at the strip and the track most reviewers felt it was the better car. Funny, I remember owning a 09 Challenger R/T and wondering why it kept coming in last behind the Mustang and Camaro. I thought it looked the part (most retro) rode nice, had lots of room and was comfy. All the reviews could focus on was the fact that it was soo much slower than the Mustang and Camaro(and they said that was what muscle cars are about). Its nice to see things have changed as comfort seems to have trumped power Now I am just having a little fun, I bleed GM and the Camaro will always be my favorite car. Team Camaro should be proud of the ZL1 and they have nothing to hang their heads over. I have said before and I will again the Boss and ZL1 are very complete cars, and that is why journalists love them. The Shelby is a WMD weapon of mass destruction, and hard to digests for some. In a way the Shelby reminds me of another WMD the original 69 ZL1. I still think this ZL1 should have been the Z28>Boss and the ZL1 should have had a LS9> Shelby That being said I can only sit back and imagine what a 2014 ZL1 would be like with more HP!! I believe we would equal if not beat the Shelby at the strip and on the road course . I am gonna be honest (unlike some) and say I am not happy with loosing most of the performance tests to the Mustang. I hope for 2014 Camaro can make up some of the performance ground we have lost since 2011. p.s. I 'll just be happy to get my 2014 ZL1 Vert maybe with more HP
