Overspray

Hello

I had the misfortune to have overspray on my 2012 camaro. I was able to get it off of my paint using a clay bar but I have failed miserably in getting it off of the rubber around the windows and trim behind the side mirror. It is also on the bezel around my tail lights. I desperately am in need of some help in what to do. thanks

Sorry to hear that, I had that same problem with road paint.

As you did for the paint I used a claybar.

For the rubber/plastic areas I used Mineral Spirits http://www.amazon.com/Mineral-Spirit.../dp/B000QD9S0O
(go to home depot, it is too expensive on amazon)

Just make sure you don't apply it directly to the rubber/plastic pieces as it could eat thru plastic (didn't happen to me but just something to be careful), apply a little bit into a towel and use it to clean the contaminated areas (also don't over saturate the towel).

If you want after cleaning the black areas use "Mother's Back to black" to protect the rubber/plastic.

Also check this thread for more info http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=163901

Hope this can help!

Good luck!!

Thanks for the help. but I don't think it's paint. The mineral spirits didn't work. Any other ideas?

The only way is to catch right when it happens, but in real life that's never going to happen, one product that works pretty well is Goof Off. You can get it at your home improvement center or at a paint store. If your trim pieces look fade then you can get them or you can repaint them and use Forever Black trim recondition to restore the rubber trim.
