Thumbs down Stuck in the 13s

Full exhaust, CAI, JRE tune. Thinking about dumping the JRE tune for a custom. But is it more my technique? Help me out here fellas.

I don't know the exact time and date of your run.

But based on 9pm last night (DA 2606 ft) for Famosa Dragstrip.

Your 13.4 @ 105 mph would be a 12.9 @ 108 on an excellent track day (0 density altitude).
That's a little off the pace from where you would like to be with your mods.

This run was around 9:30, so not far off. Made 5 passes, 12.9 felt miles away...

Give a fast driver the keys and see if it's you. Best thing you can do. I chopped half a second off a buddy's car doing just that. Afterwards we worked on his technique since we ruled out a car issue

Manual or auto? If an auto, I can get you .5-.7 sec improvement in the 1/4....and as for the tune, send Ted a few logs of 1/4 mile runs and he can tweak your tune pretty dang good....that should help, and as another poster stated, the driver mod is one of the most important.

Give us more info & we can try to help.

The launch is the most important part of the run. Are you stick or auto, I can't view the video from work computer?

Sounds like it's shifting a little slow too and your last gear rpm need to be bump up just a tad. Your shifting right before the 1320 light. Hard to tell on the start because of the one wheel peeling truck your beside...

He has an auto trans look in his garage. I'm with Pouncer72 here, this car should run in the high 12s easily even in a high DA. The street tires are a big limiting factor here but the car should still run in the 12s.

He ran 13.4 @ 105 mph in an auto. That's a car that's down a little on power. I don't think its a driver's mod issue or a 60' issue. It's more than that.

In those conditions, he should expect to run 12.9s @ 108 mph (DA corrected - 12.5s @ 111 mph).

I agree with the numbers you think he should be running SGO. I have a M6 and very similar mods vararam, headers, Jannetty tune, M/T drag radials. In a 245 DA my car ran 12.508. I just had the LPE 3.91 gears installed and went back to the track hoping to get high 12.3s out of it. When I went to the track last Sunday the DA was 2645 and the best I could get out of it was 12.79, but corrected thats a 12.389 so it's right there where I was hoping. The automatic car we are discussing here should be running 12.5xx in a good DA.

It didn't look like you were spinning off the line, sounded like the truck was doing all the spinning. I don't really see anything wrong with your technique, maybe just the trans tune could be better? Were you using the paddle shifters, or just letting the car do its thing? I've read it produces better track times to just put the car in sport mode, and let it shift by itself, but can't confirm as I have an M6.

My only real mod being our prototype intake, I can run 12.85-12.95 all day long in a 1200 DA on street tires (corrected = 12.689 @ 111.898 mph). I tried out a different intake this weekend, @ a DA of 3190 the best I could do was a 13.265 (corrected = 12.755 @ 108.77). My car is basically stock, no tune, hacked up stock exhaust, you can definitely get into the 12s with what you have done.
