Anybody out there not bothering their dealer??
So I know I've seen everyone contacting their dealer every week or pretty regularly. I placed my order just over a month ago (5-26-09) and I've contacted my dealer twice (Mine got accepted for production b/w 6-15 and 6-21) and I don't plan on contacting them again until the middle or end of July which is when they told me I should be expecting my car.
I'm just sitting back and letting things happen since no matter what I do, it's not going to get here any faster. All I will be doing is working myself into a frenzy going it's at this status and now its at this status or I've been at this status for 4 or 5 weeks. Anybody else chilled?!

I'm anxious... but chilled. I actually made my wife call the dealer :-X (btw, don't do that...)
The dealer basically said, that I was #7. He is just as excited about the car as I am... but calling each other 3x a week isn't going to help either of us. I will get updates when he gets updates.

yup thats the best thing to do man, just sit back, go enjoy life, and check up on it maybe once every couple of months.....to many people on here bugging there dealer everysingle day, i know it be getting on my nerves if worked at a dealer......itll be here alot faster if people would just find something to do

Since I have been in area 51 since April 4, I call everyday. I call GM CS everyday. They need to get my car fixed and on it's way to me. My 1st payment it due 6/1/09 and I still have no car.
If you just placed your order, the dealer should be contacting you with status changes as they occur. I know my dealer gave me updates as they happened, but now that it is built movement has stopped. |

Camaro Drivin'

I stopped in one sat morning right as they were opening.
I actually did have follow up questions since I had ordered two weeks before and had read lots here on the Camaro5 site. So i don't consider this to be 'pestering'. But my sales lady was quite happy to see me as my presence got her called out of their daily "sales pep talk"! Timing is everything!!!

I've been extremely patient, and waited until a week and a half AFTER my TPW to start asking questions, questions of which i still don't have any answer.....
I honestly bitch more on here though than bother them, it feels good to vent.

I placed my order 5/7 and i havent contacted my dealer once yet. It would be kind of nice to know when its coming in so that i can get my loan from my credit union, but my brother, when he bought his G8, just used whatever bank the dealer could find, and then he got his loan from the credit union and paid off the other loan, i guess i could do that also.

Ordered 3/27/09. I will not call the dealer at all. I figure they will let me know when my order # comes up.
If not, I will buy something else.

I'm glad to hear this! Having worked in customer service in the past, I think that more people need to take this approach
![]() I've e-mailed my dealer quite a few times, but mostly just to ask questions and get more details. So I may have been a bit annoying on that side but not too bad I hope I think that if I went the route of asking the "where's my order?" question every week, that would get quite annoying, I'm sure. But I trust him to provide any status updates I may need, and I'm incredibly satisfied with what he's done so far
