Car got towed... now its acting weird - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So my car got towed for a registration issue, (which btw, I got all fees waved

), and now the electronics are acting kinda weird.

Im sure youve noticed this, but when you have the radio or any other electronics on in the car, and you take your keys out of the ignition, it all still runs, but when you open the door, it all turns off, right?

Well, after I got my car back, whenever I open the door, it all still keeps going. I had my stereo blasting out loud, and went in to work, can out from work, and I could hear my stereo still from outside my car, lol..

Soo, any idea? I called the tow yard, All State Towing, they said "uhh, no.... we dont do stuff, just tow it, with the tow truck...". I wanted to see if anyone here can outrange her vast high-degree knowledge of towing and the electronics on the camaro.

When they opened it for the cop to do the inventory (required in many states for tow on infraction) maybe they messed the switch up.

Take it to the dealer and and see what they say, maybe its just a programming thing and no worries, but if they messed something up they should be able to identify it.

That would make sense, they did something to make the car think the door is still shut to stop the alarm from going off, hence why it wont turn off when its opened and shut..

sounds like a bcm issue take it to the dealer and they will reflash the bcm

Does the door chime still work? Seems to me, the two things would rely on the same switch.

Take it to your dealer and have them reset your computer.
