plasti-dipped my rims...

I also painted the black stripe along the back of the trunk lid in between the tail lights.

for those of you who've done plasti-dip before how does it hold up compared to typical spray paint? I've spray painted stock camaro rims before and there would always be little chips and stuff in the corners of the rims and i would find myself retouching it weekly.

also a warning... do NOT allow Black Magic TireWet or similar products to touch the paint, it will dissolve it instantly! (learned this the hard way lol)

I'm also interested in how the dips holds up to normal road use. And how hard is it to remove if you want to go back stock?

removal is as easy as peeling it off. it will peel off as one big sheet. wait till it dries fully though. otherwise it will make a mess. it also helps to remove any masking tape before it dries as it will take the edge of the paint with it.

Did you paint only the outside spokes or all the way into the inside of the wheel behind the brakes?

The thicker the coat you put on the easier it will come off. If you only put one or two coats it will break apart in quarter sizes pieces but if you have 4 or 5 coats it comes off in one big sheet also holds up pretty well to road use my friend did his about two months ago and aside from being dirty as all hell there were only 2 rock chips in the plasti dip everything else looked the same as when it dried originally.

Looks good man, awesome car. The first time I did my rims, I didnt put enough coats on. I went through a car wash, when the car came out the other end my rims were peeling in places... embarrassing ride home I re-did it and did like 5 heavy coats and been awesome since and i do alot of highway driving. When i use tire shine, it doesnt hurt the dip either. I did the taillight trim and all the emblems, easy stuff.

It holds up amazingly well. Don't be afraid to try it. If you screw it up, or don't like it just peel it off. Everyone thinks I bought new wheels, and are amazed when I tell them I did it with 25$ worth of rattle can plasti dip.
