For those who ordered in may, when did the dealer tell you, your car was going to be delivered? I ordered may 5th and was told by july. I just find it odd that some of these old orders arent coming in yet, but I do have a feeling that preorders that havent been filled has to do with your dealers allocation. I mean my dealer was given 6 already with 3 coming in shortly. They initially has 14 orders and I was number 14 with 9 delivered i am now number 5 Anybody with a may order have an updated status or build date, because if they are saying by july a build date should be in there by now.

I ordered mine 2LT on May 2nd. Dealer said 6 to 8 weeks. It went to 3000 on May 14th. They said to check back in early June for an update. I think some of the delivery dates depends on what you ordered and whether your dealer had allocation at the time. So, it all depends.

With the ramping up of production and I would assume QC issues going down, I don't think this is an unreasonable time frame.

I ordered mine Friday (may 22nd) and as of this morning I am at 2000....My dealer also said 6 to 8 weeks but not to hold him to it ...He showed me on paper that his other Camaros are coming in about 6 weeks ...He is getting a black one in this week that he ordered on 4/9

ok so others are in the same boat, i thought the dealer might be BS me, but he couldnt say why, but just said he knows this car will be in by july, i am going to get an updated code status this, week, if i ordered on 5th i should be in the 3000s as well, and my dealer is a big reputable dealer and as Camaros go this guy has a big name in the camaro world, so I think his allocation will be huge, he had 6 on opening day

Here is what I was told:

I ordered on 5/23/09. I am the third order that has not been submitted to GM and number 14 total at the dealership. I asked him about allocations and he said they typically got 4, one allocation a week but last month they got 4 for the first week and 0-0-0 for the next three weeks. He tells me that is likely because of summer shut down. He said all cars were like this, not just the Camaro. I know all plants do shut down for a week or two (my dad works at GM - Lordstown Cobalt Plant) so this was not news to me. Anyhow he did say that the Camaro plant MAY not take the shut down and is likely to ramp up production. He said his next set of allotments will be June, which runs June 15-July 15. If he gets his typical number of allotments it will be 1 per week which would mean I get submitted first week of July since I am third on the list. Then he claimed 8 weeks till delivery which puts me early/mid September.

This all sounded like it made sense to me. As for the R6P cars, I am guessing its an allotment thing and a QC thing. I have been hearing early cars are needing fixed but instead of fixing them, they are just concentrating on playing catch up. Yes, it sucks for the early orderers but thats why I didn't order on 10/2008. I may or may not have my car now... hell I may still have my car before alot of early orderers.

Take this with a grain of salt. It is just what I have been told and so far the dealer has been great. When will I really see my car???? Your guess is as good as mine but I am in no rush.

good info. I think the big thing is dealer allocation. But if you order by June I would think your car should be here by end Sep. Come July or aug all the pre-orders and orders in the system should be complete. By Aug sep they are going to be just making stock for the dealers, sure there will be orders in, but there wont be the 8000 or so that are left to make in the system from the original 18 or so that were in the system originally.

Hey dude I'm in the same boat. I ordered on may 22 and am at current event 3300. I guess I jumped forward because some lady backed out of the car as it was going through the process. I know i was allocation 13 of 14 so maybe that has something to do with it. He assured me that I would have my car around the end of June and at the latest early July. Others on this board told me I might have it was soon as mid June.

I also ordered mine On Friday the 22nd. He told me between 8 weeks and 6 months. That is fine as I have some things to take care of in the meantime.
