Is This The Proper Way To Install Stripes On A Camaro?
What's he doing wrong with this Camaro black rally stripe installation kit?
(Questions) 1.Does the stripe not look centered? Yes or No. 2.How would you put them on? It don't look professional to me. 3.Would you trust this guy to install a stripe on your Camaro? Last edited by Renegade; 08-16-2012 at 02:02 AM. |

It looked like the pin stripe near the center of the hood tried to lift just before the end of the video. Other than that i'm not a stripe installer so couldn't tell. It looked like there was a little water in one spot so he must have used water and a smoother to get bubbles out. Nothing wrong with leaning on the car as long as he didn't have a buckle or snaps hitting the paint.
Can't tell from the video if it is centered or not.

As far as the guy "leaning" on the car, how else do you expect him to do it? Seeing how the guy is wearing blue jeans, I think he should have taped off the fender or had some other fender protector in place to prevent his belt, zipper, or jeans rivets from scratching the paint. Would I trust this guy to install stripes for me? Like I said, I didn't see Part 1, but I was watching the reflection of overhead lights as he pulled back the clear film, for air bubbles and I didn't notice any. The stripe looked smooth, so from what little the video shows, YES I would trust this guy to install stripes on my Camaro. |

When my stripes were put on by a professional, he put a water solution on first. That way he could move the stripe where ever he wanted to get it straight. He then used a squeegee to get the water out.

I'm not sure if we are watching the same video. Looks centered, looks great, he's peeling off the transfer tape. That's how you're supposed to do it

water solution is usually dish soap and water, just incase your wondering. If there are bubbles in it from the water solution, they will usually evaporate in a day or two. No I wouldnt have him install them, id do it myself
