leaking spoiler

Has anyone ever had the dealer installed blade spoiler leak or have had a bad installation of one? Mine came out bad. Found the issues two hours after buying the car.
New car is now getting a new trunk, stripe job, side trim, plugs, welded quarter panels, paint, and my list goes on much longer.

All this because of a very hack mechanic.

The car is now in a body shop (GM one), it will be new again I hope. I went today to survey the damage though and almost shed a tear.

Thanks for the vent.

Water was getting into the trunk due to a bad installation? Does the blade spoiler installation require drilling? No matter the cause, sorry to hear things went so bad for you.

Just trying real hard to deal with it. I suppose its still better than a blown motor like some have had. And I'm at 1587 miles now. It is now broken in, so I'll be having some fun when it returns home.

I am having the same issue ..
Since we have see very little rain since I purchased the car about 2 months ago, I had not noticed the leak, that was until last week when I took the car thru a touch-less carwash ( and when I opened the trunk there was water coming down from the 'carpet' under the trunk lid.

I have a 2SS Synergy Edition so the Blade spoiler is listed as a Dealer installed part.

I will not be able to take this in for another few weeks as I am about to take a trip and the car will be in a garage during that time. When I get back I will take it is to have it checked out.

OP - I hope that it is not as bad as yours

No leak on mine, but the install wasn't w/o it's flaws. Too much torque was used on mine and now my paint is cracking. Needs a repaint....

To the person who asked, yes holes must be drilled to install the blade as the car comes w/o a spoiler from the factory.

It seems that the age- old question has now been answered: Is it better to have a leaking spoiler... or a spoiling leaker?
