Harleysville, PA Man Killed in Lower Salford Crash

LOWER SALFORD — Township Police have identified the driver killed in an accident on the 500 block of Quarry Road on Friday afternoon. Christopher Detweiler, 42, of the 100 block of Morris Road in Harleysville, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro and died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to police. Police said the accident took place around 4:38 p.m. Friday as Detweiler was heading north on Quarry Road, lost control, and crossed the opposing lane of travel and hit a tree. Detweiler was flown to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead there, police said. RELATED ASSETS Harleysville Area Emergency Medical Services, the Harleysville Fire Department, and the Towamencin Township Fire Department helped extricate the driver at the scene, according to police. The accident remains under investigation, according to police. Any witnesses are asked to contact police at 215-256-9500. Sad news. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Sure looks like it.
Perhaps this needs to be moved to the ZL1 section!  You know how I complain about my tires when they are cold.

I wonder if his car was modified. I do not see the red engine cover or shock tower brace(would be silver if stock).Disregard the award this is my best pick of the two items I'm talking about.

I see why in those pics that nothing is recognizable in the first pic. Very sad especially this time of the year. Keep safe guys.

Holy crap! How fast was he going??????????? I totaled a car at 55 MPH once & it looked really bad but that is unreal. Very very sad. Please drive safely everyone. Save the speed for the track & even then be careful. Prayers to the family.

I wonder if he knew the Goodyear tires were summer only? I bet many dealers don't even know about that, I mean this is really sad, I was going to make some joke about the MyLink probably still being good until JustGeorge posted the news report which you can tell this is definitely the car. It is apparent that he was also well above the speed limit, slow down guys... If you want to go fast take it to the track, that's what they are made for anyways!
