Question rough idle and backfires, why? please help

my 1995 camaro with a 3.4L V6 starts up fine and runs good as long as i drive it. if i turn it off and turn it on it idles rough and backfires. i replaced the plugs and wires and cleaned the idle control motor and did not help. anybody have any ideas what could cause this?

Hum have you pulled codes? Check for vac leaks and maybe any play on your distributor.

The gears can wear out. I don't know much about that particular engine probably want to repost in one of the major 4th gen forums.

Not sure what it would be off the top of my head but I'd definitely take it to an AutoZone or another auto parts place to pull the codes. That will help narrow down the possibilities. I take it your Service Engine Soon light is on?

Similar problem about 4 years back, it simply went away unexplained, now I'm having hard starting problems.... no codes.

Would that be the crankshaft sensor?? Similar problem on a Bonneville years back, car would at times not start.... I'm experiencing the same problem now with the Camaro, alternatively it could also be the fuel filter.
