Fredericksburg, Va State Inspection

Does anyone happen to know a State Inspection place in or near Fredericksburg that is friendly towards modded cars?

My car is registered in NC and has passed there before but i dont feel like wasting an entire tank of gas to drive down and back just to get it inspected. The only issue i see that could hold me up is i have no rear O2 sensors due to my headers.

is ur car registered in a emmisions testing state? If its just the safety inspection they dont look at ur exhaust at all. Just brakes, lights, horn and stuff of that nature.

depends on if you are in Spotsy or Stafford county. you do not need emissions in Spotsy but you do in Stafford. But if you just need the inspection they do not test anything but do safety type checks.

I just got mines inspected this month at Radley Chevrolet, it passed with flying colors and I have headers and hi flow cats. I live in Stafford but I have it garaged in my home town where it doesnt require emmissions test.

I think some other people with modded cars passed emmission as long as the car is not throwing a emmission related codes.

I think you should be fine

I had Firestone in Fredericksburg do mine one year with full headers and tune. Had dealership do it this year. Passed no problem.

Hmm, i was laughed at by the guy at the Chevrolet dealership and said i was crazy to even think it would pass with out the rear o2 sensor. Guess i have a road trip to NC coming up next weekend.

Where did you go? I have the font 02 sensors, but they never look. Were you guys talking about it? Just go to a local shop. I know you do not need to drive back to NC for this.

Go to Burtons Automotive on Rt17.

Normal state inspection they dont even look under the car.

For a emissions test which is required every 2 years in Stafford county. I thought mine would have issues and it passed no problem.

If your car is registered in North Carolina, I am pretty sure it has to be inspected in the state since the inspection program runs thru the DMV for registration renewal.

I have the same problem being that mine is registered in NC. I refuse to have mine registered in VA. I found a dealership right near the border of NC/VA. Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 is the address. Its the Nissan of Roanoke Rapids dealer. DMV is right near the dealership as well within a 5min distance.

Well, I found out I just needed to fax a copy of my VA insurance card to the NC DMV and they would waive my inspection.
