Best street/drag tires..

I just installed headers, cai and a tune and my car is squirley when I get on it. I will be taking my car to the track probably 2-3 times a month but it's also a daily driver. I've read that the Nitto N555r tires are a good combo and I just to make sure this is the best route to go. I also live in Oregon which rains quite often but it's approaching summer so I doubt I will seen much rain until fall and at that time I will swap tires when it starts getting wet.

Also, I know nothing about tires/wheels and I was wondering if 19" Nurburgring wheels and 19" N555r's would fit my 2010 2SS/RS.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nitto 555R's are the best handling drag radial in the wet. I've driven on them multiple times in rain. They won't last long driven daily on the street though. You may want to look at a set of dedicated track wheels if you plan on tracking the car multiple times a month.

I'm only looking to get maybe 10,000 miles out of them..is that not attainable?

Yea. Going multiple times a month pus daily driving it...might be a good idea to cop some cheep wheels and trow those nittos on them. Otherwise you're going to run through them quick.

I got the Vredestein Ultrac Sesanta's in 315/35/20.

I had the same issue and switched to these. They are amazing. I got them from DynoSteve here on the forum. They are on sale, all sizes.

I have a supercharger being installed on Monday. Should be great.

Before i could mash the pedal under 40 and kick the thing out 180 degrees.

Yesterday i mashed the pedal at 10mph and it just dropped and went, no spin at all!! Plus the tread wear is supposelly great, alot better than the Nittos. I would recommend at least looking into these!

TRC, What's your current rwhp? I'm putting my car together up to 650whp and looking for some good street tires. These nitto invos are 1000X worse than the stock pirelli at stock power..

Thats what happend to me. I bought Pirelli P Zero Rossos,. they were worst then the factory P Zeros. I havent dyno'd my car but im roughly around 400RWHP, come monday ill be 510ish. I can let you know. But i spoke with several people who had these tires with high horse power cars and they loved them. DynoSteve said he had them on 2 of his cars, one of them making 700RWHP and it was fine. Another member was in the 630 range and said they hooked great. If you mashed it at low speeds you obviously got a little wheel spin with that kind of power but it grabbed quick.

Ill post my opinion on tuesday when i come back with my supercharged car.

I just re-checked my PM with him on the tires, Hes actually running these on his 675HP camaro and 1156HP challenger!!! He said its the best tire by far that he has run on his cars!

he also said they are good in the rain. I do not drive in the rain so i didnt ask any further on that.

I recommend the Mickey Thompson ET Streets. You still have to be very careful on wet roads, but they handle better than the Nitto NT05R and hook much better too.

Agreed. I had the NT05Rs and switched to the MT ETs. Liked them better. Also come on 20" sizes.

Hmm..Now I'm even more lost lol. I was hoping for a good 50/50 mix for track and street. I've heard of MTs..are they good for a 50/50 during summer? And what about these Vredestein..are they good for a 50/50 during summer?

Summer yes, but only when it's dry.
