Question ratio of v6's to v8's?

I was curious as to if anyone had some numbers on how many v6 camaros are on the road vs the v8s for various years. I tend to mostly see a lot of v6 camaros.

Thanks!

Camaro5 used to release a pie graph showing the ratios. I haven't seen that lately but I remember that early on the ratio was very close...actually it was slightly more V8s. But as time went on it was clear that more V6s were starting to sell. The last graph I remember seeing showed at least 60% were V6 and I'm sure that number is at least as high....probably higher today. I'd guess the current ratio is somewhere around 65 to 75% sold are V6s.

You see more V6s on the road because V6 owners tend to drive their Camaros. V8 owners tend to garage their rides.

One year later, I have almost 17,000 miles. I bought her to drive.

I see the same amount of v6 & v8's on the road. When I look at the dealerships, more v6s are present.

I see more V6's on the road as well... if I had to guesstimate I'd say V6:V8 = 3:1 in my neck of the woods. Nothing wrong with that. A Camaro is a Camaro... same familty tree.

Only if some people were thinking like you instead of bashing the smaller engine.

More anecdotal evidence -- when I was shopping for my 2012 SS, at the dealerships I visited v6's outnumbered v8's by at *least* a 2-to-1 margin.

Additionally, it seemed liked the percentage of auto trans to manuals seemed like 10-to-1.

I chose the v6 to drive and better gas mileage..I really wanted the v8 but just decided to wait . I also think it has to do with the price for some, and what yo can afford..

The V6/V8 ratio is exactly too many/not enough

I kid, I kid.

I see maybe 10 V6 to 1 V8 here in the bay. Not sure why.

I'd say around 70% are probably V6 at this point...and as someone else said, alot of the V8s unfortunately become garage queens so you don't see them as much.

And I will add that there's nothing wrong with EITHER engine...had an LFX, really enjoyed it. Had some issues, but a great car none the less. Some days I really miss her...but the SS does do a good job of putting a smile back on my face.

I thought I saw a chart the other day that showed it to be a 2:1 V6/V8 ratio.... I'll try to remember where I saw that.
