Question cylinder 3 missfire

So I keep getting a code for cylinder 3 missfire but the car never misses runs smooth has 47k on it with oil catch can. I look at the missfire data on my Verus and shows no missfires present or in the history. I clear the code and it comes back on with in about 15 of driving. I've watched the missfire data but nothing shows up even tho the CEL keeps coming on. Replaced all plugs with OEM and swapped coils. Code stays the same.

I run the Torque App in my car at all times and I have the speak feature on. A little after starting the car and after the warm up phase I get the app telling of a misfire in cylinder 3 also. Sometimes shortly after the warm up and driving away. I don't get any CEL or misfires in my history also and the car runs great. I have also seen many others post threads about this cylinder 3 misfire. Maybe it's a ghost in the programming of the ECM?

Not a ghost if it's throwing a code. Take a look at the counters on the obd. Might not be the only one counting up. I am wondering if this has been addressed in a GM ECU update somewhere along the line.

misfire

do you happen to have the RX catch can and oil breather cap?

i had both of them installed and was getting misfires.

i pulled the rear passengers side plug and it seemed like engine oil seeped into the top of the valve cover or something because my spark plug socket was loaded with oil. took the oil breather off and no leaks so far..

Noticed you have a trifecta tune and you are in Kentucky. Has this been happening since the cold ? You might try going back to the original trifecta tune and see if this goes away.

It has started to happen this winter. But even on the warm days it will still do it. The miss fire counter shows nothing. I'm back on the stock tune and still the same. I pulled the intake off and looked at the valves and there is some carbon but not much. The intake is clean so my catch cans are working. I run two elite catch cans. No leaks cause anywhere. The issue is new but my mods are not.

Do you have the Mace IM? Did you check to see if the piece that fills the dip behind the throttle body came lose and is stuck in one of the runners?

^^^This happened to me exactly. I remember being told by them that the misfires had nothing to do with the tune or CC/breather cap. What I did was this: anything with RX on it came off of my car.

misfire

what are you running for a catchcan now?

i def think it was the oil breather creating so much pressure it was blowing out into the valve cover then down into where the coil pack sits onto of the spark plug.
