What would be the best way to acquire a camaro like this?
Hey guys, my dad has been passing around some ideas of what kind of Camaro he wanted to get in terms of colors, black on black, white and orange, and eventually he landed on what he had back in 69'. Which was - Burgundy, white stripes, white vinyl top.
Now, he wants to replicate this but isn't really sure how to do so. I've noticed that the newer camaro's (2013) do not come in red jewel metallic (at least on the chevy website where you build your own camaro, it doesn't.) So what would be the best way to achieve that color combination just like this - ![]() I've noticed that the 2011's do happen to have Red Jewel Metallic.... I have only seen ONE with a white soft top, but that was sold. And I have seen plenty of ones with white stripes, but they weren't convertible. I doubt 100% that I will come across even one that has all 3 of those. So what would be the best way? Is there a way to just purchase the soft top and have the color changed? That way, we could find one with a black top, have it swapped to white, and since the stripes are vinyl, find a way to purchase them. Does that sound realistic? Any input would be awesome! Thank you. |

Great pic of the '69 Z...
I would first try to find the red jewel metallic, as the top and stripes are relatively easy replacements/additions compared to painting an entire car. Everything you wrote is realistic; as with anything else, if you throw enough money at it, you'll be able to do it.

They don't make a white convertible top. If you have to have it, you will need to get it custom made. I would cost a lot to get a new Camaro to look like that.

RJT was replaced by CRT (Crystal Red Tintcoat). They aren't much different.

You could put two white rally stripes on roof to match stripes on hood and trunk lid.
