Hey everyone... I was hoping some fellow Canadians share this issue and have possibly solved it.

I want to set my XM up on a US subscription, not a Canadian one. I currently have a portable unit subbed in the US to Sirius. I do not want to lose Howard Stern, but I don't really want to clutter up the Camaro with the wires, receiver, etc.

If I can get a US sub - I can get "The Best of Sirius" including Howard.

Canadian subs don't have this option - for some ridiculous reason no doubt related to the CRTC and Canadian Content, they haven't merged in Canada.

Anyone been successful in subbing their Camaro's XM to the US service?

We have had Sirius radios for many years and we don't want to purchase another subscription. My husband has a Stilleto and would like to connect into the car but doesn't want to run wires. He doesn't want to loose Howard Stern either. There must be a way of changing the brain in that XM radio. We don't like the Canadian programming either. It would be nice if we could use direct connect and utilize the unit and antenae that are already there.

Anyone have any ideas on how this setup could be done?

Just got an email from XM/Sirrus yesterday stating prices are going up. Seems new Royalties fees are coming effective in July what will increase the monthly fees about $2.

I know there are "brain changing" kits for other radios - Sirius Connect for GM.

The problem is - I am fairly sure the Camaro is a newer radio/bus type. I know for my G6 Coupe and Impala - the newer radio type wasn't supported by any of the kit's yet.. I have been waiting patiently!

I'm HOPING that I can simply get the ESN from the Radio and setup on the web with Sirius/XM. I need to get in there BEFORE the dealer does though.. part of PDI apparently is setup of XM.

That is true, when you pick up your car XM us actuve and ready to go. Ours has Canadian programming. It would be nice if we could use a direct connect cable and plug into the existing radio but I can't see anywhere to do that. The manual doesn't help much either.

Thats funny. they merged to keep costs down.

thats funny I gor a called just friday from XM sirus and they where ofering a discount since I never renew after trail in january for my traverse. and they where willing to discount if I would activate.
