** ECM TRUNK FUSE PULL **

Does pulling the ECM fuse in the trunk affect a Custom Tune in any way ?

Not sure what popping you are talking about. It's possible that while reseting the spark reference to the high table that it likely resets the fuel trims. That being the case they will relearn

Yes sir that's the sound that I love..... I gotta re do this tomorrow while I'm at work bc I only took it out for about 45 seconds then I put it back in.... Is it better to pull the two under the hood also at the same time and leave them out for a couple of hours also....

It won't hurt to pull all three fuses for a couple of hours. I'm not sure anyone has determined if there are capacitors holding a charge on that circuit in the PCM or if so how long it takes for them to drain. It is much easier to hook up a scanner and check both Spark and Knock Learn Factor, to know if you even need to pull the fuses.

this is why i wonder if removing fuses 5 & 20 then rolling the ignition over (not to run/start) would immediately reset the tables. not not sure how to monitor the system to see when it is using the high or low octane tables. if somebody can actively do this, then i suppose that would provide the definite answer.

just a thought...

just a though...
You just have to monitor Knock Learn Factor with a scanner. If the number is 0.00 it is using the high octane timing table only. Any postive number menas the low table is being reference as well. The larger the number the more it is being referenced. Scanning this along with timing advance will tell the story.

Now if you are asking about monitoring to see when the ECM resets, you got me.

I've been meaning to fill up with 87 to see if the KLF goes to 1.00 when the low table is being 100% referenced. Also curious to see how long it takes for the KLF to return to 0 after 93 octane has been reintroduced.

yeah...thats what im talking about. not necessarily the WHOLE ECM, just the fuel table portion. maybe somebody that hasn't done the fuse pull yet can verify this so we don't have to put the crap back in the tank

I'm not sure if you can, or should, scan the ECM with fuses pulled

i don't see how it could hurt, would be the same thing as if they were blown and running diagnostics on it. but i think having those removed and rolling the ignition over would help reset everything (circuitry stuff) so as not worry about "did i let it sit long enough" for an unspecified period of time.
