Suede package yes or no

Well guys I has like yes then no on the suede package. So in the end I said no a 540 upgrade in Canada I was just thinking your natural oil in your skin would matt the suede. Now I see the car in person and was like crap I should of got it for so cheap. So I found the manual shifter and boot along with a wheel online new from a gm parts source. Only 330 bucks for it all cheap the shifter you can do yourself. But the wheel with electronics and airbag should be the dealer what you guys think??? How is the suede after some long time of driving any input would be great. Thanks these cars are SICK!!!!!!!

I think the suede looks and feels cheap personally.

I think the exact opposite - think the suede gives the interior a much classier look, and I love the way it feels driving it daily.

I have had loads of positive comments on it too - most people saying how the interior is much better than the leather I had in my 2SS

It wasn't about the money 540 is cheap I was worried about how it would look in a year from the oil on your hands? I was. Other a fan of the suede tell I picked up the car and like Modern07 says it is actually really nice

I ordered mine without it but the car came with it anyway. I seriously doubt it makes the car any less fun to drive.

Very easy to do yourself. Just disable the airbag circuit and borrow a steering wheel puller from a part store or friend.

...I have it, and I am for it. The shifter and steering wheel have a more positive grip under intense conditions than other materials, the seat inserts definetely help to reduce slide in lateral G's.

The seats have fabric inserts which will hold up well, but there is no way the steering wheel won't wear down. Even a matte finished leather wheel will become shiny after your hands polish and wear the surface. I think the suede will have better grip, but I'd would t be happy once it started to wear.

...I never was happy with leather steering wheels, the micro fiber steering wheel with the ZL1 doesn't care if your palms are swetty, no gloves needed. It's a upturn in a positive direction with technology.

Buy a spare suede steering wheel and pack it away. 20 years from now, you won't be able to buy them new, and when you get done roddin' it and want to start showing it, you swap them out then. People will marvel at your ability to keep it looking factory fresh! And if you don't keep the car, keep the wheel. Then in 20 years, when nobody can find them anywhere, you can get $1000 or more for it. Trust me.

I did not go for the suede, because I have seen wheels that have oils from hands being on it and it did not look good, so I did not pick that option. The suede will be slick like leather after driving for a time, I would think.
I did not really want the inserts in the seats, but that is the only way the ZL1 comes.
