Question 2012 6L50 Sport Shifting Mode Problem?

Like the title states, has anyone of you guys that owns a 2012 Camaro with the 6L50 - A6 Transmission had any problems with the Sport Mode holding 4th a longtime before shifting into 5th or 6th gear? My car only does it in the Sport Mode and not in the regular Drive Mode. I am trying to figure out if the TCM needs to be reprogrammed, or I might have a premature Torque Convertor problem. Any and all replies would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wish I could get some feedback from other 2010-2012 A6 V6 Owners on their experiences they have had with this Transmission Gear Hanging up problem between 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th gear.

You can always post in the v6 bolt-onssection too. That forum is bit more active, and people post problems there all the time.

I thought sport mode held the gear alot longer and shifted at a higher rpm for the "sport feel" has it always done this or just started this? our 2012 holds the shifts alot later when in sport mode from day one

ICTsccaCamaro: Thanks for your post, as this is what mine is doing exactly, holding the gear longer in the Sport Mode, then at lower speeds, it seems like the engine is lugging, or missing, until it downshifts and then it is driving fine. I thought it was allot different in the Sport Mode in this car, verses the Sport Mode I had in my 09 Pontiac G8 GT, as it never did that at all. I guess it must be the charactoristic of this new 6L50 A6 Transmission! Anybody else want to chime in with a similar problem?

Its normal. It will hold the gear for a while so power is available. If you aren't going to use the power, it will upshift.

Read the owners manual there is a section for this in the 2011 manual for the V6 Auto cars.
4 (Fourth) Gear Hold (V6 Engine)
If, during highway driving, you
wish to pass another vehicle,
but then change your mind
(quickly pushing the accelerator
pedal all the way to the floor
and then immediately releasing
the pedal), the transmission will
shift to a lower gear and then
upshift to 4 (Fourth). This leaves
the transmission prepared with
increased responsiveness for
additional driver input. The passing
maneuver can then be resumed
from 4 (Fourth) gear, or 4 (Fourth)
gear hold can be canceled by lightly

pressing on the accelerator pedal

I have a V8 so I cant tell you haw they work myself.

That's my point, it doesn't seem to respond as well to pressing the pedal to get it to up shift like it used to.

That is what I am talking about as well. I do not like the Lag, much less the Engine Lugging effect, waiting for it to shift whenever it gets ready to....:(
