Is this the correct MSRP? Please Help

Hey guys I am sure that this has probley been asked but I do not have much time to search so please help me. My car is sitting at the dealer ready to pick up.

My dealer has been great to work with since day one so I can not say enough great things about them. I ordered back in October of 08 like many others.

I know MSRP changed and us R6P orders are suppose to be protected and getting the old pricing.

On my build order it says my MSRP was 36,220

My car is an inferno oranage RS SS with a manual six speed.

I also got the polished wheels option.

I did not get a sun roof or stripes.

For some reason I was thinking our MSRP was like 34,500

Can someone please guide me in the right direction. I am suppose to finilize the paper work tommorow and I was to make sure everything is what it is suppose to be.

Thanks
Dave

I have a similar configuration, 2ss/rs, manual, no sun roof, but have car cover.
My total after tax and doc fee is 37.8k, taxes are like 2200, so msrp is around 35k.

Based upon the information you gave here - even with the newer pricing - your MSRP should be $33,035 (if 1SS) and $36,220 (if 2SS).

1SS or 2SS Trim?? ($31,040 versus $34,225)
IOM Paint ($325)
RS Package ($1200)
20" Polished Aluminum Wheels ($470)
Destination Charge ($795)

I'm not sure what the previous pricing was like but I do believe the destination charge was $750 back during the pre-orders.

Definitely seems like there's some phantom charges in there if you got a 1SS - you'll want to pester you dealer on it. If it's a 2SS, it seems right on the money with the latest pricing. If you were a pre-order, you'll probably need to talk with your dealer about shaving off some of the costs - while it may not be huge savings, some is better than none

Thank you for the responses. My car was a 2ss. The dealer told me that when or if they receive a credit from gm on the differeces in cost they will send us a check. Where did I get 34,500 from building my car on the gm website?

If you modified your order or anything a while back it would remove your RS package and probably the 20" polished aluminum. Assuming that the destination charge was $750 back then, that would explain it.

2SS Trim: $36,220
RS Package: -$1,200
20" Polished: -$470
Old Dest. Charge: -$45

Grand Total: $34,505

EDIT: Also, if you switched your trim on the GM website (even to this day) it tends to remove the RS package and the 20" Polished Aluminum option. Beyond that, I'm not sure where there $34,500 came from. It does sound like your dealer is giving you your car at MSRP though which is great!

Things like this are exactly what this forum is for

Good to hear everything looks to be adding up on the final cost.

i am pretty sure you ARE supposed to get the pre 4/1/09 price. that's the Gm R6P Code benefit.

4/1/09 the pricing went up. but R6P orders are not supposed to be included. pretty sure. i'd check.

call GM CS...............maybe they can answer that one!

Sorry.

That's poor business sorry. Kinda like "oh we don't trust our own company to comp us the difference, so you have to front us the money until GM proves they will pay us back".

What a freaking short term (money now/customer later) business model that is.
