what is the difference between factory vs dealer installed stripes?
Why are some coming as a kit in the trunk for the dealer, and some already on the car?????

Certain colors are dealer install certain are factory. I think it white and cyber grey factory everything else dealer but might be one more factory option. There is a big stripe thread top of cosmetics forum.

From my understanding, the factory installs all stripes except the black.

Definately check out the mother of all thread about striping very interesting and has all facts. Like for Instance only 2lt and 2ss get fact stripes period. Also lists colors and what not.

Factory are white (B7X) or cyber grey metallic (B7W) only. And they can only be ordered on 2LT or 2SS models (as an option, they are not standard). They are stickers just like the ones that are dealer installed but the white are shiny and the cyber grey are shiny and metallic and look really, really good. Almost like paint. The dealer installed ones are flat and really look like a sticker.

actually... the stripes are installed at a private- non GM owned custom shop down the road from the Plant, in Whitby, Ontario.
