GM Red Tag Pricing

Here's the deal. Looking at the following truck:

http://gordonchevy.net/chevrolet-sil...ville-fl-13150

The Red Tag Price is 32,541. I am dealing directly with the sales manager and not a salesman. He is telling me the Red Tag Price is the absolute lowest he will go. I told him to get to 30,000 trying to get him to meet me at 31,000. He didn't seem interested and never heard back and I have been dealing with this guy since Friday.

I've never seen someone pay the asking price so this is why I am asking because I have google searched and looked everywhere for more info and found nothing on red tag pricing. Was hoping a salesman or manager on here could chime in. I don't think I am asking for much from the guy. Is it true they can't come off the price at all or is he holding out on me?

Might sound good but I don't know anyone who walks in and pays the asking price. I want to know if the red tag price is the lowest they can go. He told me GM don't allow them to go any lower but I seriously call BS.

It's a 2013. I thought exactly the same thing. When he sends me the info I'm going to simply keep forcing the issue of $30k and tell him when he's ready to negotiate give me a call back. I want him to meet me in the middle. I did tell him on the phone that come Jan 1 he will pay taxes on the truck and the amount he pays he could have sold me the truck and he told me the taxes weren't that much but I honestly have no clue. Every time I have talked to him I told him to quit playing number games with months and stuff. I have an Accounting degree and am running my own numbers.

I just got my Z71 4 door for 29400 out the door - LT w/ cloth though. It does have backup camera, rear sensors, XM, 5.3L auto, spray in liner, body color grille, chrome tow hooks, driving lights, remote start, and locking rear diff. Here they are giving an additional 2K for the All Star Package off the price so check on that too. My trucks MSRP was 41 and is a 2013.

Sounds like you got a steal. Great job and great info. Guy keeps telling me the truck is an Allstar Edition. How do you know this? He came 7k off because of red tag but won't go any further.

GM has a huge overstock inventory of trucks to sell.
Dealers are anxious to deal.
Red Tags are marketing fluffery, $10,000 off msrp or walk.

All Star Package should be on the window sticker plus most All Stars have a silver valance below the bumper.

And yes it looks to be an all star edition http://www.gordonchevyop.com/f_Windo...PKSE72DG235172

I just got off the phone with 2 surrounding dealers that are not linked to them. They told me they couldn't come close to that price. They gave me exactly what the dealer paid for the truck and everything. They told me it was a great deal and I shouldn't turn that down. They told me they couldn't even offer that price to me. They actually turned my business down basically. Gordon won't release that truck to them and they can't find any in the state of Florida so basically either I don't go get it or I just deal with the jackasses. Decisions......Lol. Thanks guys for all your input. All the dealers I spoke with said Gordon came 10k off and thats great.

I bought my 2011 Silverado last october. The local dealer found the one I was looking for (Black, extended Cab, 6.2, full load) at their sister store the next town over. Got them $10,000 down off the $56k sticker. They wouldn't budge further. I went directly to the place it was at and got another $4k off.
Caused quite a shit storm when I told the local salesman what happened. I think he quit.
They are giving away last years models this time of year.
