LLT is the engine in the 2010 and 2011. LFX is the engine in the 2012+....The LFX has integrated headers and a composite intake manifold along with a different computer.

I'd add different ECU and bigger HPFP. Tigher tolerances on some parts of the rotating assembly.

Depending on the year timing chain issues and oil consumption/loss.

Glad I bought the extended warranty! Just bought a hardly used 2011 2LT RS convertible.

Nelson,

For the most part, the LLT has been a great engine, but as mentioned some have found issues with oil consumption, and there is an issue with the timing chain stretching.

The BEST thing you can do is check your oil fairly often and make sure it is within spec, and change your oil every 3,000 to 4,000 miles. I'm not just saying that as a general statement like we are all used to hearing, but instead, for this engine, it is more important than usual.

Good luck. I know I love my V6

The LLT will be the least of your problems. The convertible top could be a different story however...
