That's a good deal, especially if it's brand new

I'll add my two cents here, have the VIN # of the car infront of me, as well as the applicable rebates and everything.
Invoice on this vehicle is: 31,909.31. Now, hold back on it is 957.15 (and the customer is getting it, no way to hit 33k OTD without them giving up HB - most dealers won't). 500 dollar rebate on the car, now, I am not going to count the private offer cause thats not in the price of 33k OTD. Dealer cost vehicle is 30,952.16. Basically, thats the 310 line (aka invoice) minus the 500 dollar rebate. Now, factor in the holdback, they are giving up 957.13 in that regard (Holdback is 90 days worth of floor plan money the dealers get from GM to keep vehicles on their lot). So assuming you have an 8% sales tax (I dunno what you have, but this will give you an idea), your sales tax on the car would be 2592.26. Say your dealer uses what mine does for fees and such (240), that would put the sale price of the car at 29,167.74. Your dealer is losing 800 dollars on the car. More than a fair deal IMO, I'd take it. Last edited by Driver44; 02-23-2013 at 07:55 PM. Reason: I can't read apparently |

I usually look at autotrader and I've seen 2013 SS (not as equipped as the 2LT though) for 32 - 33 k with USAA and some $500 rebate. I think you might be able to get a better deal. Although I have seen a LS at 30k so I guess it depends on your dealer.
Also @Driver44 don't you have to pay sales tax on top of what you pay for the car? I haven't bought a car so I don't know. |
