QUOTE=Apex Chase;5592201]...

An oil-air separator is an aftermarket device that will condense and collect the oil vapor before it has a chance to reach the intake system. As the gases and oil vapor enter the can they typically pass through a screening mechanism that gives the oil vapor something to adhere to. As the droplets form they drop harmlessly into the bottom of the reservoir so that they can later be drained. The other gases are allowed to pass through so that they can be burned of as intended. These devices are often referred to as “catch cans”, though that term is truly more accurate when describing a fluid overflow tank designed to just capture leaking or overflowing fluids.

When it comes to selecting a catch can you will get what you pay for. Cheap catch cans (less than $100) are plentiful but they are often little more than an empty can with two ports. These will capture a small amount of oil but the vast majority passes straight through. Be sure that the can incorporates some sort of baffling system to pull the oil vapor out of suspension.[/QUOTE]

Here's a quote from APEX CHASE...

"Pulls/Condense/Collects Oil Vapors" from being re-circulated back into your engine

Read this entire thread....that can if bought on ebay is only $69 and lets more oil through than it catches.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265217

1/2 way down this page are pictures of most cut apart and an explanation of how they work or dont work..and why.

Look at the inside of it:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=265217&page=4

Make sure to read the entire thread and look at all the pictures of the effects.....and the idea is to trap all the oil, not just 10-20% or you still have the problems.

On lead time, were running app 2 weeks to ship right now. There is no can as effective on the market period and anyone can test by installing a clear glass inline fuel filter between a cans outlet and the intake manifold and see for yourself how poorly most work.

Only a couple are worth installing.

We can only make 50-100 a week and have orders running 100 plus a week and we paint to match your color of choice so all are made to order as well.

Do the pull through test on any of the cans and see how much is getting past....or search here for those that have. Yes, the Elite does a very good job.
