possible order cancel

so some of you guys probably remember the post (vomit, barf, vomit) where i thought all ss models came with the hid lights. wanted to add the rs package after i realized but it was to late. they tried but it was 2 weeks before the build and no dice. i guess its kinda my fault for not doing the research prior. i was kinda bothered after seeing how much the oem hids cost. i called my dealer and said im thinking of canceling my order and re-ordering what i really want. i also asked if they could do any better on the car to off-set the hids a little if i take the car. this was on friday and he said he would call me back on saturday. still havent heard back from him. they probably think im a dufous which i guess i kinda am. probably just take the car as is and out a set on angle eyes ina t some point.

I think cancelling a car for this reason is...weird.

Go buy a set of HID head lights after you have the car. RS package doesnt look good IMO.

Yeah I only got the RS Package for the HID's I didnt want anything else from the package really. Maybe they should also give me the RS 20's set since I paid for them.

I would just put HIDs on. The rest of the RS stuff is useless on a 1LE anyway. You might even save money in the end.

I've got a whole TRS kit and AAC halos since before I had my car. Still haven't done the mod. Part of me likes the look of the halogens on the 1LE. I'd say give it a chance unless you're dead-set on having hids and halos

I personally wouldn't want it without RS. And if you really want it you will not be happy with a substitute. Get what you want the first time. No way I would pay $40k to settle for close enough. Nothing against non-RS cars. But if it isn't what you want then its not for you.

And to clear up the common misconception about them owing a set of the stock wheels, you did not pay for them. ALL SS cars come with the same wheels ( non 1LE of course) whether it is RS equipped or not. The only thing RS does to the wheels is change the finish. On an SS you are always paying for HID/ halo lights and color matched roof ditch and shark fin. That is why RS is cheaper on SS than LT models.

maybe you can make a deal to have them add the rs cost to the price of your financing to cover most of the cost of the HID's and install. they definitely have room to make it work but i think you gotta let them know you will pay for it

if you just want HIDs and can DIY, TRS offers an awesome hid package for around $300. i think they even have halos now too, but haven't seen them myself yet. i did my retrofit and the morimoto minis are amazing! my led halos are having some problems tho, so my project isn't quite finished.
otherwise, i think most refurb RS lights are around $650 or so? been a while since i looked. I know Ofer sells them through gen5diy.com, along with the harness you'll need.

You could check the boneyards for any 2010+ Camaro's w/RS packages and see if they still have the whole assembies.

Don't cancel! Here's what to do. Call your sales rep and tell him you want to talk to the regional sales manager. With a polite request, you can ask to have your car order UPGRADE to RS, which includes the HID lights. You can only do this before the car's build has started of course, but trust me it can be done. I am speaking from experience. Your sales rep may say no simply because he does not know it can be done, or can't be bothered. You have to get passed him to a person who can actually change an order, and that guy is the regional sales manager.
