Help with an onstar light that flashes - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have a 2013 camaro 2LT and on the rear view mirror there is a light that flashes only when I am driving. Onstar nor the dealer knows what this light is. It is a red on with a red circle around it with a red exclamation next to it. It shows up above the SOS mirror light. Onstar keeps telling me to take to dealer and dealer tells me they have not seen it and to take a picture of it...ya while I am driving!!!!!!!

Anyone else have this problem??

Not this issue but about a week after picking up my 2013 Onstar stopped working. Took it back to the dealer and a week later I was able to pick it up. After working with Onstar and GM in Michigan they replace the Onstar module.

I had the same issue, as did a couple of others. You have a bad mirror, the dealer replaced mine this past Satuday and that resolved the issue.

Here is a pic, assuming this is the light you are getting. Now you have a picture for your dealer.

Mine does this sometime too, But only when it is stormy, cloudy, nasty weather. I think it is a reception problem/signal being blocked.

See above, it's a bad mirror. This has been confirmed by my dealer and Onstar.

I have this light quite often and have been told by my dealer it just means there is no satellite reception - it only ever lasts a few seconds and then disappears.

So did they tell me incorrect information?

Yes, it's incorrect.
Here is an email a fellow member received from Onstar, this helped me and the dealer resove the issue:

Dear Mr. X,
Thank you for your patience in waiting for a response to your inquiry regarding your OnStar frameless mirror.
The red OnStar logo with the exclamation point is a warning light that tells you something is wrong with the system.
If the light does not stay on long enough for you to have an OnDemand Diagnostic pull up any information, take the vehicle to your dealership. If they have any questions they can call us here at OnStar for assistance.
Please reply to this email with additional questions, call us at 1.888.4ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827), or press your blue OnStar button to speak with an advisor.

Will do but I will have to get it later as I am at work now. But I am pretty sure it was not a TSB, just a mirror replacment order.

Dealer replaced my mirror when this started happening to my2013 about 2 months ago.

Ok, just had my wife fax the repair form, here is what is says (No TSB as I thought):

C0040 Inside rearview mirror replacement
3481 WCC
1- 13580912 F-Mirror

2500 Inside mirror losing communication/red light. Verifiy and per last visit. Diagnosis replaced inside rearview mirror assy.

I know this sounds like borken english, I just typed what was on the form, LOL
