Great story...Muscle car love at it's best!

So im in my IOM /IOM 2SS and I am filling her up wit the good stuff, and i noticed a 2008 Shelby GT500 in the parking lot along with a 2002 mustang. So as the gas guy pulls out my gas nozzle the GT500 pulls up next to me and says "Damn that is one sexy ride" , i say "Thanks and yes she is, and yours is sweet to". He asked what is under the hood and i tell him, he lets me know that he has 446, but thats not at the flywheel; he states. So he pulls off to the highway and i follow behind him. Light turns green and he drives a bit and pulls to the slow lane and waves me up to talk. I pull up next to him and we hold up traffic conversing and he says " Damn, with you behind me it looks like your car wants to kick my ass" , i began to laugh my a$$ off. I said "you know it!" then he said "i would ask you to do something but i see you got your mom in the car" (my girlfriend), i then gave him a rev and we both were off! not that it was a fair start i was rolling he was standing still but he couldn't make up the ground he lost ! we honk and go on our way. All the car hating must stop, I just think its all muscle car love! and he proved that to me, just wanted to share!

"Some cars look like they're going fast when they're standing still. The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."

This is the sort of mutual respect that we should have for our rides. There are plenty of members here driving cars that we should respect, even if it wouldn't be our choice. It's good to read such a good story.

Do you really want some minimum wage, freckle faced kid, swinging a gas hose around your car? I think not...

Thanks - but no thanks. I'll pump my own.

NJ would be one of those stupid states. We hardly even have full service stations here (thankfully).

I love the logic behind mandatory attendants: "Gasoline can be dangerous, so we're going to let a guy that dropped out of high school handle it."

It's always been good competition. It's how you act.

With the "Put Put Wars" coming (take off on Clone Wars) the sports car owners have to stick together. Midnight runners off the grid. Refusing the soilent green 2000 Sub Sub Compact Vehicle and or Light Rail.

New Jersey and Oregon are the only two states I know of that have designated pump operators.

I prefer to pump my own gas. That way I know just how full I got it, and I don't have to worry about some dip stick get gas on my paint or worse, scratching it.I work out of state most of the time and hate every time i go back to Oregon and the state thinks I'm not capable of pumping my own.
