Clear Protective Film for Rock Chip Protection?
Anyone got a brand, part number, and maybe an online store or sponsor that sells the clear plastic film that is used on some vehicles quarter panels for rock chip protection? Getting my new ZL1 in a few weeks and want to possibly put this on it as well as some rock guards.

From what I've read, the XPEL product is better than 3M. I'm having the XPEL Ultinate applied to the whole car.
http://www.sanantonio-clearbra.com/ Maybe others could chime in on their experiences.

+1 for Xpel Ultimate! Had mine done a few weeks ago and it turned out great. Wish I could have afforded to do the entire car because it acts as a shield to not only rock chips, but swirl marks and scratches.

Xpel is the way to go. I had mine done last year. 10 year warranty, self healing no peeling or yellowing and once it has been applied and in the sun good luck trying to find it. You treat it like the Xpel was never there, wash polish wax etc. the big plus is that it's self-healing. Not quite sure how it works but I'm glad. I to wish that I could have afforded to get the entire car done. It's a little pricey but worth every penny. Just make sure that you find a very reputable installer.
As for the rock guards there are two different people that I have found hear that have them. Here is the one thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290210 they were around 50-60 and then there is one by showstopper, here is his link http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=274501 I think they are around 125. I have the first set and love them. I haven't really heard any complaints about either set The only thing that I can honestly say I didn't think about was the extra time in detailing to make sure I get the wax etc off the edges so there aren't white lines. I don't mind spending the extra time with my girl but others may. Last edited by Hercules; 06-01-2013 at 10:31 AM. Reason: added another thread address |
