So much for Blue oval shoving the bailout in the face of GM. Guess they need money afterall.

This isn't the bailout money. This is something passed a long while back. However the money should only be available to American companies.

I thought the stipulation was American factories, but they could be foreign or domestic owned. This was passed awhile ago and it is to retool existing plants to make more fuel efficient cars so look for GM to get money when they are ready to tool up the Cruze stateside or for the Volt if money is left when it shows up. I would make a SWAG that Ford is asking for money to tool up for the Fiesta. Don't have a clue what Nissan is using the cash for.

GM is seeking $10B and Chrysler, $8B. GM is not currently eligible for the loan due to bankruptcy.

Ford will use they money to retool the Wayne plant to produce the Fiesta.

American loans to Nissan? Doesn't seem right.
