Does 1-800 actually call dealership?

I know, I know, don't call the 1-800 number. I was bored and getting tired of hearing the same thing all month from my dealer, so I decided to go ahead and call, what could it hurt...right? Well my dealer has been telling me that the car is "In Transit" for the past 2+ weeks and that it had an ETA of 6/16. However, the person at the 1-800 number told me that it is waiting to be shipped. If she actually called my dealership, wouldn't she have told me it is in transit unless my dealership has been lying to me?

Dealer told me yesterday that when you call 1-800 number that all they do is put you on hold and call dealership you ordered from.

That is what I thought, which is what worries me. Why would the dealership tell them that it hasn't even shipped, but tell me that it's in transit and was supposed to get here a week ago?

Okay so I just talked to the manager of my dealership, and at this point am pretty angry and wanted a straight answer. He finally said "yeah, its been in the city for a while now, but we want to wait until we have a full truckload before we get it, which could be a week or two." What the hell?!?! What am I supposed to do? It's already been here for over a week, and just because they are a small dealership and don't get a lot of new cars in, means I have to wait 2-4 weeks with the car just sitting at the railyard???? There has to be something I can do to get my car...

Totally agree! I just got off the phone with CS and you just get the same old line....blah blah blah. All they do is call your dealer...its a total waste of time! I think I'm going to fall into the same boat as you since I also have a small dealer and my car arrived at the railyard yesterday. So I guess preordering in October meant nothing since cars that were made at least 2000 after me are being delivered already. GM has clearly dropped the ball, and like I just relayed to their GREAT CS team..."I guess they didn't mean it when they said they wasnt 100% customer satisfaction.

Ya and I mean what is so hard about sending a truck literally 1 MILE AWAY? Hell, just let me go pick it up if they can't, this is so ridiculous. I really hope that what everyone says is true about all the frustration being worth it, because I'm about at the point where I'm despising this car, because after waiting almost a year, being the first in line, and everything, this is how I get rewarded.

I can say one thing for sure, this is the last time I ever preorder a car.

The dealer and GM have no control over the trucking company. Until the dealer signs for the car on his lot, the trucking company has total control of it and they are not about to send a truck with one car on it. It will move when the truck is loaded and if that means its waits for more cars, then it waits for more cars. The dealer cannot interfere with interstate commerce and the teamsters.

It will arrive when it arrives. No amount a complaining is going to make it move faster.

I feel your pain! Granted I haven't been waiting 2 weeks, but I have a good feeling it will be close to that. I have a very small dealer and I have seen other cars delivered the next day to some other members on this forum. The hardest part has been the overall wait. The girl at customer support says..."yeah I know I would be impatient too" Um excuse me but I have BEEN MORE THAN PATIENT!!! I have seen people who have ordered in May and have their car already! GM needs to go that extra mile and get the preorders out IMMEDIATELY when they hit the railyard!! Im very close to being on hold all day WITH GM CORPORATE OFFICES! Something I live by .....Squeaky Wheel gets the grease!!!

Well then GM needs to find a way to change that, because a good business doesn't let this happen to customers, especially when they are paying this much money.

We're all waiting. Quit being a whiny biotchsky. The trucking company doesn't have to wait until a full load for your company is completed. They can make a couple stops to different dealers. You should read your comments...you REALLY are whiny. You sure you don't drive a FORD?

They don't call your dealer, They call some other people. B/c I asked them to look up my order the otehr day, and I know my dealer was open, and the CS says the people they get their info from was closed.

I've called CS 5 times, each time they have stated that they will have to call my dealer, I said, ok.., don't, it's a local call for me and you won't find out anymore than I have. But I've heard many good things about the CS line here on the forum, I'll remain positive for those who have good luck with it, my experience is that it.

Kinda sucks

But don't let me ruin the experience.

Don't give me that, you'd be pissed if you were in my situation too. It looks like according to your sig that your Camaro showed up and is going immediately to the dealer, so don't even try to bash me. I know other people are waiting too, and it is ridiculous, and I know they are angry like me as well.

I just called a bit ago and explained that my dealer didn't really have anything and he said that he wasn't going to contact the dealer. Came back a few mins later and told me that my car was "In transit" (duh) and that they had no ETA. But suggested that I get in touch with the dealer to find out the info as they should have it.
